Our upgraded D2 brake kits are designed for optimum braking performance, resulting in reduced brake distances and better brake feel in performance vehicles. A Big Brake Kit (BBK), is also known as an Upgraded Brake Kit or Performance Brakes, is composed of bigger brake discs, brake pads and calipers. Braking performance is linked to the surface area the brake pads have to bite into, as well as the disc diameter and pad pressure. So larger pads and larger brake discs are perfect for shorter stopping distances. This increased surface area also helps with heat dissipation, as heat is the enemy of braking performance. The number of pots (or pistons) of the calipers will also play a role in term of pressure applied on the pads to make the contact as good as possible on the rotors. In order to fit the caliper on your original chassis, D2 Racing provides caliper brackets to position the calipers with your new braking system, making the perfect set up for your vehicle brake system. The discs are a two piece design with aluminium centre bell for reduced unsprung weight and better handling, as well as better thermal performance. Hollow Racing calipers – These are forged aluminium monoblock calipers with high levels of CNC machining for optimised weight reduction whilst maintaining incredible stiffness for the ultimate pedal feel and brake temperature reduction. They also feature high temperature seals and a specially constructed piston to reduce heat transfer into the fluid. Recommended for race and track use. Kits come with two brake calipers, two brake discs, street brake pads, stainless steel brake lines and associated mounting hardware.
