Saturday the 5th was the first round of this years Britcar Endurance Championship and we had entered in our Mazda RX87 in partnership with Sustain fuels. This season we are using Sustains Racing GT80 fuel which is 80% sustainable and we have had good results on test days with this product as well as reducing our carbon footprint.
We can also now supply Sustain’s products! Please contact us here for more information.
We had a solid qualifying session putting us 5th in class and 20th overall for race 1. After a technical issue in the first couple of laps, which the team jumped on as soon as Jonny hit the pits, we found ourselves well down the field. Jonny did what he could and battled his way through the field to finish 9th in class and 27th overall. As soon as the car was out of parc fermé the team had it up on it’s air jacks checking every part was in good order for the second race.
In race 2 Jonny obviously had the bit between his teeth and from a starting position well down on row 14 of the grid managed to storm his way through the field to finish 1st in class and 6th overall beating much quicker cars such as McLarens, M3’s and Aston Martins! Not too bad for a 4 door Mazda that came out the factory with 228bhp!
All in all the team did a fantastic job and delivered an outstanding result. Massive thanks to all the team members!
